Data set generation information
Currently the data set is generated on the machine running the ftp search server and WWW gateway. As an example, I give some numbers from the data set generated September 24th 1996:- 7h45m hours elapsed time
- 5340 User CPU seconds
- 2820 System CPU seconds
- 20-30 MB resident active memory, 30-40 MB active memory
- 2 GB virtual memory, most of it read-only
- 4650 ftp sites
- 4900000 directories
- 65000000 file names
- 9600000 unique file names
- 135000000 bytes used by unique file names
